Summer camps at LCA

We are excited to announce that Laconia Christian Academy will be offering three weeks of TimberNook Camps! We had a fabulous summer last year and are excited to do it again in 2023!

If you are looking for a summer camp experience for your child that is both fun and developmentally enriching look no further; TimberNook Summer Camps are sure to inspire creativity, provoke ingenuity, and provide adventure!

Early Education

We ignite curiosity and wonder in our youngest students through a nature and play-based program.

Lower School

We give our younger students the freedom to explore and the tools to become life-long learners.

Upper School

We prepare our older students to impact the future of humanity by engaging thoughtfully with the past.

The Whole-Child Approach

Let Them Play

Play is not a break from learning—it is learning. Have you ever heard someone say, “Play is the work of childhood”? We can’t dismiss play as enjoyment only, because it is the means of deep and lasting learning and development during childhood. Play is natural but it is also essential.

Service-Learning Trips

Our students don’t need pampering, they need to experience the world! Through cross-cultural travel, their comfortable ideas of God, faith, and culture are stretched as they encounter the diverse beauty of other places and people.

What Your Child Really Needs? Nature. Have you heard that bird song decreases heart rate and stress? Loop the recorded soundtracks in your headphones – or just go outside.

Here at Laconia Christian Academy, we believe that the arts are essential to a holistic education, and there are so many reasons why! At the core of it all, it’s because we believe that the arts are a big part of what makes us human. Just like our Creator, we are meant to create.

As a student, my years at Laconia Christian Academy were enhanced by the relationships I had with my teachers. They encouraged my talent in writing, guided me in my creativity, and challenged me to think through philosophies of history in light of Scripture. It is because of their care and attention, that I went on to study education at Cairn University and a Master’s of liberal arts at St John’s College in Annapolis. I spent six years in Vienna, Austria at the International Christian School of Vienna teaching high school geography and history, before I felt called back to teach in the very place –LCA– that was so special and formative for me as a student.

We recently made the transition from homeschooling to having our three oldest children attend LCA. The faculty and staff have created age-appropriate environments that have enabled our children to thrive in the new setting. Our youngest is part of the preschool program and has been nurtured by the thoughtful and loving teachers. We appreciate that LCA gives them ample time outdoors — like the extra recess on the playground before school starts.
